Sioux City’s unusually vivid history inspired us to create some novel multimedia experiences. From the time they enter the doors, visitors embark on a fanciful and enlightening adventure into the city’s booms and busts, disasters and triumphs. The museum has been a huge draw for locals and tourists, a showplace that everyone continues to be proud of.

Sioux City’s spectacular 19th-century corn palaces inspired this immersive theater. A lively and lighthearted retelling of the city’s rich history plays out on three large, arched screens.

Disaster Wall

On the facade of a fire-ravaged building, dramatic stories of fires, floods, and a historic plane wreck unfold.

Visitors travel through time and space using this innovative, steampunk-themed, interactive map of Sioux City.

Attic Ghosts

History definitely does not need to be dull – especially if ghosts get to tell their own stories. Two apparitions appear mysteriously in an attic mirror to recount their versions of events in Sioux City’s past.

Who knew that Gateway Computers started in Sioux City or that pre-packaged meat did too? In this quirky, award-winning interactive, visitors explore two home-grown businesses that made it big.
